How a dog who was deaf found a boy who was also deaf.

Sometimes, a boy who is hard of hearing finds companionship in those of similar circumstances. In this case, it’s with a dog who is deaf.
According to the Washington Post, 14-year-old Walker Cousineau of Bentley, Michigan, came across a Facebook post about a dog who was recently dropped off at the local animal shelter. He told his mother, Mindy Cousineau, that he needed that dog.
Despite already having two other dogs, Mindy and her husband, Jim Cousineau, agreed that the dog was perfect for their son, who has bilateral hearing loss and high-functioning autism. He is sometimes teased at school, his mother says.
Similarly, the dog, who Walker named Dave after a misbehaving minion in the movie Despicable Me, had been moved from home to home. In his last one, he did not get along with the chickens on the property, and was placed in the shelter. That’s where he and Walter met. Read more.
