An AG Bell Cradle-to-Career Moment
Andrew Truong was officially diagnosed with hearing loss when he was 2 years old. He initially experienced fear and anxiety when using hearing aids, but after several months, he became increasingly comfortable with them.
Andrew is now able to say three-word sentences. He can also identify and name all main planets in the solar system in order according to distance from the sun. “It’s such a blessing each time we hear him put several words together and with each of those moments, it really pulls on our heartstrings,” his father, Vu Truong, told AG Bell.
Andrew is able to speak and talk in multiple languages. After learning the English alphabet, he challenged himself to learn it in Spanish. He also can count up to 100 in English, 20 in Vietnamese, and 10 in Spanish.
Andrew absorbs new information every day and has great curiosity for learning. He now goes to Bridge City Montessori School in Happy Valley, Ore., where he is in an early education program.
Andrew has grown immensely both intellectually and cognitively. His uniqueness and intelligence bring a smile to those around him each day.

Aprender a hablar en varios idiomas
Un momento «de la cuna a la profesión» de AG Bell
Andrew Truong se le diagnosticó oficialmente una pérdida auditiva cuando tenía 2 años. En un principio, al utilizar los audífonos sintió miedo y ansiedad, pero tras varios meses se fue acostumbrando a llevarlos.
Andrew ya es capaz de decir frases de tres palabras. Puede también identificar y nombrar todos los planetas principales del sistema solar, ordenados según su distancia al sol. «Para nosotros es una bendición cuando le oímos juntar varias palabras y esos momentos nos llegan al corazón», asegura su padre, Vu Truong, a AG Bell.
Andrew es capaz de hablar y conversar en varios idiomas. Después de aprender el alfabeto inglés, se puso el reto de aprenderlo también en español. También sabe contar hasta 100 en inglés, 20 en vietnamita y 10 en español.
Andrew absorbe información nueva cada día y siente una gran curiosidad por aprender. Actualmente acude a la Bridge City Montessori School (Oregón), donde cursa un programa de educación infantil.
Andrew ha crecido enormemente tanto intelectual como cognitivamente. Su singularidad e inteligencia hacen sonreír cada día a todas las personas de su entorno.
