Introducing AG Bell’s Young Leaders Board

The Young Leaders Board (YLB) is an AG Bell program that works to expand the visibility of AG Bell and its resources for young adults who are deaf and hard of hearing (DHH).

Through networking events, the YLB will provide young adults opportunities to develop new skills, take on leadership roles, and broaden their professional and social circles.

Working together, the YLB engages with young adults who are DHH to create a global network, empower young adults to actively participate in a cause, and educate young adults to be leaders in their community.

“The Young Leaders Board is important for the future of AG Bell as we engage with the next generation of young adults,” said Erin Mangwiro, AG Bell’s YLB program coordinator. “Our goal is to foster a deep understanding of board governance and nonprofit leadership, as well as create virtual and in-person opportunities to advocate for others and share personal stories that allow our young adults to grow into the next leaders of AG Bell.”

We are excited to introduce to you the group of young adults who are leading the YLB to the next level!

“We can expect great things to come from the Young Leaders Board,” said Emilio Alonso-Mendoza, CEO of AG Bell. “The creation of the Young Leaders Board helps to solidify support for all individuals who are DHH and bridge the gap from childhood to adulthood, making AG Bell’s Cradle to Career initiative a reality.”
